Or could we in some way herd the money through somebody and make one big " retrobike" payment to MIND? Help raise their profile and promote retrobike and cycling though their social media etc? Ie instead of paying the seller, you pay it into the " retrobank" .

I understand this can all be done through "just giving" who MIND are already registered with. We set up an account and the buyer pays straight into the "retrobike mind" account. Paypal accepted. Job done. Mind receives the money direct.
