Cannondale Super Vee frame

Morning all , just got my hands on a Cannondale Super Vee 500 bike , my question is , are all the lower end Super V frames the same and will they all take a standard fork , ahead shock or a lefty ????? All with the right head set . Also what are the rear shock options , all help greatfuly received .

Hi, they will all have the 1.5” head tube, so yes they will fit a headshok, lefty or normal fork.

I’ve fitted 1 1/8 forks to mine via the use of reducers.

I’ve read that you can fit tapered forks too but I can’t remember where I read this. I think there is a particular headset by cane creek that can be used.

Can't advise with the front shock but check out the MTBR Cannondale thread. There's lots of advice re the rear shock on there and many have drilled another pair of holes in the frame mount to take a longer shock and get more travel. I think they are called uber something or other.

to get the "proper benefit" you really should stick with lefty of headshok (IMHO)

As for the rear shock it will depend if you have an 80/100 or 120 mm rear end travel?

Mine is the 100mm and came with the fox alps - all I had to do to it was the oil and it is working like new - the oil that came out of it was black.

Also when you have yours done lets meet up for a Super V Meets the Purbecs ride in the summer.
