Cannondale M800 Beast of the east

Retro Newbie
No pics I'm afraid.

Just inherited an approx 1991 Beast of the East with LX groupset, deore thumbies, coda brakes, tioga psychos and (unfortunately) manitou sport forks instead of the pepperoni's.

It can't have done more than 100 miles, was stored in a garage unridden for the last 20 years and is in great nick! (seatpost is slightly bent - my brother was fat! - and fork elastomers have degraded though!)

Does this have any value or should I chuck it?

??megalight single speed rebuild??

keep it and ride it. M800 frames go for around the £100 mark if they're in good condition, Thats roughly what i sold mine for. If its a full bike might be worth £200-250. Of course if you do decide to chuck it i'll take it ;)

M800 BOTE ? ...with such low mileage,Fork internals could be rebuilt, a good clean up & tune up and replacement of degraded/damaged parts and you're ready to go whilelooking out for the Pepperonis .I'd say keep it & have fun !

Noone wants it binned as we have all experienced the enjoyment in giving an old bike a new lease of life......even if you are spoilt by the charm of a new bike the charms and memories of the old one will bring a new dimension to the table to enjoy along side it......

What  The early 90's BofE was one of Cannondales finest hours! If you're going to chuck it chuck it this way and I'll restore it and set it free in my Retro Cannondale sanctuary where it can run free with other BofE's, Killer V's and early SM's

But in all seriousness it sounds like it just needs a seat post and some elastomers so couldn't be more simple to sort, if you put a wanted add up on here you'll have 'em in a few days, you may well get the pepperonis too if you ask nicely but if you've got the one I'm thinking off you'll need a threaded one in red with black bits near the dropouts so it'll make the search a little harder.

Sounds like a bit of TLC will make it pretty damn fine as it is. Absolutely definitely don't chuck it :)
