Cannondale M700?

Pick up this Cannondale. I think it's a 1992 M700. Looking through the catalogue I don't think there's an original part left.



Modern Deore rear mech, v-brakes and brake levers.
XT SL‑M732 Thumbies
XTR M900 hubs laced to Mavic 231 rims
Mavic headset
Controlstem
Suntour chainset
RockShox Quadra forks

I'm assuming the period upgrades where done by the original owner.

The Quadras look like they're missing the seals, but still seem fine.

So I'm thinking of replacing the modern stuff with some period correct parts. Maybe XT M735 or DX M650

If it is an M700 do you think the period correct upgrades seem out of place for the bike?

Looks spot on a 92 700 with some nice upgrades, not a big lover of the forks so they’re the only thing I’d change back to pepperoni’s oh and the levers

Nice find. You do seem to get some good bikes passing through your shed matey hehe. I must visit Hull again soon, iv'e not been for a while. Is it still s sh1t hole ? (Bear in mind that I'm from Hull myself and therefore have the right to call it a sh1t hole).

Pick this up in Goole, didn't realise it had the XTR M900 hubs & Mavic 231 rims until I picked it up .

Hull's not too bad. If you visit, go to the marina and the Fruit Market and have a few drinks around the old town, some cracking pubs around.

Nice looking bike, when the red is polished and shiny they look ace. and they have the croggy stays at the back.

The quadras will have had no dust seal as they had boots on them (Mags the same for a while)
