Cannondale M400: From MTB to modern Touring Bike.

Dirt Disciple
I needed a new full equipped touring bike and I wanted a Cannondale frame. So I found this 1996 M400 CAD2.
An alloy frame with steel fork, in my favourite colour blue :)

Back home after a 300 km tour:

Would it be a crime, a sacrilege / should I buy a newer frame? I thought no and started work! ➡️ Full stripping and building it new. The wheels are self build/spoked. Some Parts are used and some a new. The frame is fantastic, it runs straight on very stable and is agile around the corners.
Total weight now is 13,8 kg and the Air Sound horn is a live guard in traffic.
The brakes are very powerful, comparable with the Magura HS :D

Nice, I like it when an old frame is used as the base for a new bike. Did you use a converter to switch to Ahead?

Cannondales are favorite riding retro bikes.

I don't have a M series, but do have a 90 ST600 and 87 Blueberry Crit.
