Cannondale M400 for sale
This has been my go-to bike since 2016. I've commuted on it, toured and carted kids about with it. Running other bikes now though and this is currently surplus, hence offering it for sale.
The paintwork is as you would imagine for a 'working' aluminium bike that's 30 years old! Plenty of scratches etc. Although, no dents to note. Where the paint has lifted I've scraped off and touched up with black enamel in the past.
Spec is a mix of parts as it's been constantly changing as parts have worn, and I've raided the spares box.
- 1994 model I believe
- Frame - 21.5" seat tube (23" top tube)
- Fork - original chromoly fork
- Wheels - mavic D251 rims on LX hubs.
- Tyres - 1.75 schwalbe Silento, nearly new
- Gears - 7 speed Deore thumbies, running on friction due to 8 speed cassette. Modern alivio rear mech (boat anchor), chainset is a spa cycles XD-2 triple
- Brakes - original Alivio front canti, black LX rear. XT levers.
- Other - wider bars (Easton EA30, 685mm), 100mm stem (i still have the original), Tortec pannier rack, Sks mudguards with my own patented front extender made from a fabric softener bottle.
Doesn't need anything, perhaps a little fettle here and there, but it's pretty bombproof and has been so reliable.
A faithful friend that has brought me much joy.
Located in Bolton.
£120 ono.
