Cannondale F800 CAAD2 with Headshok - Immaculate example

Retro Newbie
Hi Everyone,

My first foray onto Retro bike, so apologies if my bike isn't old enough!

It's a 1997 ( I think) Cannondale F800 with Headshok. I've owned it from new. Bought from Leisure Lakes in Daventry. As you can see, it's red, with yellow grips. Before delivery, I asked the shop to fit Magura Tomac brakes to it, as I'd had them previously and found them to be excellent.

The bike is almost 100% standard and original. It has the original Panaracer Smoke tyres and I also have the original bars, having changed them some years back. I can't currently find the original saddle, but will keep looking. A recent house move has seen loads of things end up in boxes.

Overall, the condition is exceptional. I fitted protective plastic covers to the downtube and the chainstay has always had the black protective coating on it. Genuinely, it's a 9.5/10. There is a small mark on the Cannondale "C" on the headtube, but that's pretty much it.

Price wise, it's a tricky one. I'll start at £450, but will listen to sensible offers, and of course, take advice if I'm miles out. Having looked on ebay and on here, I can't really find a comparable. Anyway, on with the pics...............

what size is it?

From the centre of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat tube it's 19". It's 18" if you measure from the centre of the bottom bracket to the top of the top tube. For reference, I'm 6ft3 with a 34" inside leg and have the seat set at that height.

Re:

Wow  that's in amazing condition !! Just about every Dale from about that time has quite bad paint issues around the head tube, bottom bracket, down tube and chain stay areas, good luck with the sale although even in that condition I think you may not get any takers :|

Re:

Hi my whole collection of dales and other bikes have been stolen this weekend I would be very interested in giving it a new ocd owner if the price could come down dramatically.

Kind Regards

Hi All,

I've had a few PM's from people, mainly around the condition and the price!

I'm open to sensible offers, and believe me, an offer never offends. I'm perfectly comfortable with not taking it. Similarly, I'm aware you can get XXX for the same price, or XXX for less. As I've said to people on PM, if you can find an identical example for considerably less, then crack on and buy it. I'm guessing that there aren't that many out there.

Thanks again for your comments and guidance,

Matt

Bump from the depths.

Will also lower the asking price to £395.

Still too much if it was a small frame and a Volvo edition you could name your price. There is a lot of good people on this forum that could give that bike a good home but trouble is xmas is on its way and people are not thinking of buying bikes now unless they are a steal. Like I said in my previous post I was interested because all my bikes were stolen at the weekend but you made it very clear to us all you think the bike is worth a fortune and then bumped it after it went cold. Not a rant just some friendly advise good luck with the sale.
