Cannondale F2000 ('97 or 98?)

Hey!
Just bought this lovely Cannondale F2000. It needs some love but it's almost all original, with some upgrades:
- brakes (Magura Race Line instead of canti XT)
- seatpost (Syncros instead of Kalloy sp-24)
- saddle is not CODA 900 m but Serfas w titanium rails.
- shifters are a mess, but I'm planning to put a pair of XT M739 rapid shift.

The bike is set with a nice pair of Mavic x517, complete with the correct hubs (CODA 901 front and XT at rear) but they gave me also the original Mavic 222.

Do you think it's worth swapping the hubs to the original 222 or keep the x517?

Last: I've had trouble understanding if it's a 97 or 98. Can someone help?

Thanks!!

Lovely bike

Going by the fork which is very unlikely to be changed, the Fatty SL was a 1998 fork.

It would of have XT v-brakes.

If going for catalogue spec then switch the rims or if you can do it yourself? Otherwise not a lot between the rims other than I think the 222 are a bit lighter (maybe 20 grams)

Nice. I think the upgrades are just that, I'd leave things as they are, sort the shifters and away you go.

I struggle to just leave a bike alone though, and I'm not one to worry about original spec, upgrades are called that for a reason, and if rumour has it, make you go faster, look cooler and make you feel warm inside.

If that was mine, I'd probably just swap out the maguras for a set of red hs33s as I think it would look better for it.
