Cannondale F2000 (10/1997)

I have owned this F2000 since 1998 (frame serial 10/1997). I got it paid by the insurance company after my 1994 M600 was stolen. More on the M600 at 1994 M600 heritage build. Pretty much at that time I more or less quit mountain biking, and started other things. It served me as a commuter to university, and other places, as I could not afford a car. Tried also selling it, luckily with no success. To me it felt first a bit soulless after the M600 I had built myself. Years went by, and also decades with some commuter use. At around 2015 I wanted to do some mountain biking again so I overhauled the bike and the headshok and started doing some riding with it. Eventually bought a modern all mountain FS bike, but fell in love with vintage bikes, also started building this bike for easier trails and gravel roads. I just do not like how the modern bikes ride on easy terrain single tracks. I prefer that I have to do some work myself. So now I have upgraded it with RaceFace crankset, short Amoeba stem, DEAN seatpost, Titec bars, red Middleburn wheelset, red Flite Ti seat etc. Now it’s fiery, overbuilt, stickered like a Ferrari F1 race car (or Volvo Cannondale), shouting other competitors: "see you when I'm lapping and you eat my dust!". Not apologizing a thing. And now I love it.

Full specs below evolution photos.

Show wheel day. Very strange wheelset with PlanetX logos. No information about who built them and when. But they look hot :)

Found a beautiful location for some X-mas photos, so decided to shoot a bit, as I have done some upgrades since last photos. Rd has been changed to M950 with a color coded cable roller and jockey wheels. The handlebar is now Titec, which suits well with the DEAN titanium sp and the titanium Cannondale water bottle cage. The front rim also was changed to a similar X517, as at rear. Quite happy with the look and feeling of the bike at the moment. Surprized on how well the titanium gray goes with red and yellow.
