Cannondale Delta V900 advice?

Re:

Original Headshok bearing are still found on ebay etc, as are the 88 needle roller bearing racks. The first gen Headshok is a bit bouncier than later models but is a nice ride when its set up right.

Re:

Look in 1998-> to see my home made tool for taking the top of the damper.

If you are lucky, replacing oil will restore it, and may need new orings.

If it is leaking air, replace the valve core.

Needle bearings, flush with paraffin or wd40, then squirt in light grease.

I wouldn't attempt to replace the oil in these 1st gen headshok's. You could potentially bugger the whole fork.

Changing the 4 strips of 22 roller bearings can be done but its very fiddly.
If you do change these bearings make sure the 8 plates they roll against go back in exactly the same position
as they vary in thickness and need to go back in the same positions.

Just changing the 2 headset bearings is easy peasy.

If the boot is damaged then replace it. Clean the bearing surface underneath first, put the new boot in position,
secure the lower end of the boot, regrease the bearing surfaces, secure top of boot.
