Cannondale Bad Boy Lefty with Alfine

I have a problem...I'm trying to divest but I cannot resist something different that I haven't tried.
So when this Bad Boy turned up, I cracked...again!! The gears were not working but I asked the chap, when was the last time it was used and he said over a year ago.
I guessed the issue and a quick spray with the WD40 when I got home and they were selecting again...well some of them were. A quick shufty at the "yellow line" showed the problem and once the adjuster was rethreaded in its rightful place, a couple of turns and the Alfine 8 was singing sweetly again.
Haven't been out on the road yet but if it stays sunny and warm this afternoon then I will try it out. (Sorry for those in NI ad Scotland).

chain is a bit slack. :)

nice, different bike (although typical cannondale). they do stand out. the Alfine will run forever.

Ha ha, when I saw the photo I wondered how long before someone made the chain comment. 😀

Overall I'm very pleased at the price I paid, a few spots need a touch up and it has that cool satin black finish that may be difficult to match but I did always wonder "why?" with the lefty so maybe I will find out. I am wondering how you put a front mudguard on though.

yer, I couldn't resist.

mudguard, you tie it to the spokes. :)

Got an Eccentric bb?
Does it move? (Deliberately)

You ought to re-oil the hub - neglected alfine can go horrible fast and write itself off, but is very reliable if oiled once a year.

The dipping oil is expensive, I'm not sure about alternatives, it does some very specific jobs.
The oil will last you forever!
