Cannondale 1 1/4" headset headache!

Hi there.
I am refurbishing my wonderful 1993 Cannondale m700 but cannot find a replacement headset.
If anyone knows where I can get hold of a nice shiny example of said item I would be most grateful!
Would also be nice to have a spare gear hanger so if anyone knows where I can source one that would be great too.
Cheers, Jim.

I've got a Really nice condition mavic 317 1 1/4" headset for £25 posted.

You would have to check it will fit your Dale though, are they standard 1 1/4"?

Chris.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the reply. Not sure if standard 1 1/4", all I know is it's threaded and the frame is 3.0 series. Hopefully some helpful person on here would be able to tell us?
Thanks again, Jim.

Dale

Hi, Just done same with my old 93 dale.
It will be a 1 1:4 heatset your after.
Hanger I got from Evans cycles and on stock!
Good luck with your build are you looking for owt else?

Thanks for the heads up on the hanger!
Did you manage to source a 1 1/4" headset new?
Still interested Chris but would like to know if they are available new.

p.s. the m1000 looks great toppo?

After lots of searching got a new xt item from USA via eBay .
Not originally fitted but nice bit of kit.
Just put some mavic crosstrails on her for very modern look.
Are you fitting original components or going modern?
Have got any pics of yours?
Toppo.

Still have original drivetrain on at moment as still some life in them. Would love to put modern gearing on though. Would there be any problem converting to 9 speed cassette on original wheels?

Changes made so far;

Powder-coated satin black with sort of gunmetal coloured decals applied.

New Deore V-brakes.

Stem converter, specilized stem and fsa riser bars(probably going to put on some flat bars instead)

Specialized phenom saddle

V8 pedals

Other than that she is pretty much standard.

Thanks again, Jim.

p.s. sorry about quality of photos, looks better in the metal!

Here's a pic in case you wanted one.

As you can just make out there is pretty much only one cable rub to the right of the photo, apart from that it's nice

Thanks for the pic Chris. Will put a bit more research into compatibility and let you know, although I think the top of the mavic may not be as suitable for the spacers I am using with the stem converter as a 2 nut type headset would be. Hope this makes sense.
Thanks again, Jim. :D
