Hi can you use a threaded steerer as a threadless one only asking as been told you can then got told no you carnt thanks

yes you can, you'll want to use something such as 2 part flexible glue or PTFE tape on the threads to stick into the threads themselves to make them flatter for more area for the stem to grip onto and have a long enough steerer to clamp as much thread as possible. personally I wouldn't use it for thrashing through the forest or anything demanding though as the threaded part of the steerer will be weaker and the stem will not grip as well. the better alternative would be to use a stem adapter.
