Can you put spd pedals on vintage bike?

Hello Ben;

I put some XTR SPD pedals on my 91 Raleigh Dyna Tech.......the reason being I am not doing heavy training, and wanted the convenience of clipless AND being able to walk around in relative comfort.....
My shoes even looks like ordinary trainers....

Trainers yes, but ordinary...? :shock:

;)

Have the same set on my 'versatile' bike (I dunno what to call it as it'll cope with practically anything!), partly for the same reason (avoiding the Look-Duck Waddle), but also so that I can use my Gore-Tex MTB boots...
