Hi guys, the lockout control turns but makes no difference - is there any easy fix?

It's probably due to the oil level being too low. You could just pop off the top cap from the stanchion and top up, but the oil that was in there will have gone somewhere so you might want to service all the o-rings and replace the wiper seals and add fresh oil, give the internals a nice clean and add some suspension lube to the bushings and moving parts. Will help give your forks a longer life and they will be nice and plush afterwards and will thank you for it.

If you opt for just a top up, it's difficult to know how much you'd need, but basically with the damper locked out, oil can't move, too much and it will impact the forks performance.

Thanks ishaw, this sounds like great advice, I was hoping to avoid breaking them down but i guess it’s unavoidable! I’ll give it a go, wish me luck!!! 😂 - Thanks again

If you are just topping up, you only need an Allen key and a big spanner/socket (flat edge) and the right oil.

Could it be just the cable? You could try that first, ensure it is tight and has not stretched or moved, as that could prevent the locking out.

Ok, yes it might pay to try and top it up first, I’ve had a good look around for oil, can’t seem to find anything specific for lockout, I’ve attached a shock oil, there are different codes / viscosity ‘wt’ available, if this ok to use I don’t suppose you know which number is best 5/7.5/10?
