My existing Campy (Centaur I think) is horribly notchy and tbh looking a little tired. So I could sort the bearings out or swap for something else.

I see Chris King's are dead popular on here - are they just terrific and that's that? Should I go for one of those? It's 1" btw.

I did think about that actually.
I actually need quite a bit of stem showing as rise isn't quite enough, so don't want one any lower than the existing Campy one really.

Stronglight A9 work well and don't give the wallet a heart attack.
