Can we do better? (Charity content)

Hi,
I work here www.camphill.eclipse.co.uk
It is a special place with great traditions, and one of my villagers (residents) has been given £100 for a mountain bike, Please tell me, we were right not to buy that £80 MAKRO special? I mean, we can do better, can't we?
So this is where i'm getting confused, does this now become a wanted forum topic? or only after i've asked for a bike?
So i'm after a mens mountain bike (stable, pref non-suspenion) for someone of 5 foot 7-8inches, his inside leg measurement is 28 inches includes shoes, so advice on standover clearance would also help, if there are any offers, a photo would be great, otherwise even if its auction mention on ebay with postage this would also help me.

firstly thanks for the support, after going over the other bikes there i'm now also looking for.
1 pair of 700c wheels
Shimano sis rear mech
1 comfy saddle
1 comfy heavy duty saddle (for rider around 20 stone)
1 pair of v brakes
XL mountain bike frame, forks and headset, rider around 6foot 5inches

hi ya i have a khs montano comp ( i think) frame and forks its 17 inch (need to check) comes complete with a very nice Shimano 600 headset( 1 Inch), resprayed in purple , some small rock bashes to downtube, but not structural and pre respray , new decals have been applied and all in all a very pretty little frame in good condition

the frame belonged to quite a little fella who ride it without problems, I have little short legs and it was a tad too small for me even,

looking for £35 posted,
