Can i use a speed 9 chain on an 8 speed cassette

Hey Guys
Can i use a speed 9 chain on an 8 speed cassette with out real issues

i know the reverse is a no no 8 speed chain on a 9 speed cassette

sheldon Brown says its ok but i thought i would also ask here

Yes, definitely ok, there's about 1/2 a mm difference in pin width and about 0.2mm in roller width. Close enough to work fine.
