Hi all,
Picked this little beauty up at a boot sale the other day and am just wondering if anyone can put a date on it? Raleigh Technium 'The Chill' U.S. spec, full Deore and apart from the front tyre completely original.

Complete strip down, clean and rebuild, full respray if i can find somewhere to get original graphics from.

Value (if any) once restored?
No, no, not at all. No need to thank me. Any time.

What is it with young people these days and their lack of manners?

Popping up on a forum with a £20 bike you're flogging for £150 is no way to make friends.

Re:

I should sticky this thread as an almost perfect example of how not to make an entrance.

But I won't.

Apologies for any offence caused gentlemen. Being nearly 40 i appreciate the 'young people' reference and being Grammar school educated have impeccable manners which i have dutifully passed on to my children... So sorry again!

Scenario is this... Being into downhill, dirt-jumping and 4X my wife groaned at having a 6th bike in the house (it sits nicely next to my mk1 Burner) but nevertheless i bought it and have simply out-priced it so as not to sell (see what i've done there, she thinks it's for sale...). If it does it is a bonus but i have been after a 'pub bike' for ages and this fitted the bill exactly. I had a Raleigh Mustang when they first came out (parents present to me for passing my exams to get in to Grammar school) but can't find a decent pink one for love nor money and had a soft spot for this the second i saw it.

If i were to strip it it would only be to upgrade from old parts sat gathering dust in my shed. Mavic wheels, Judy forks, XT group set etc. but that is not what i want. I will keep it original for myself or make a tidy profit selling it on. Where's the harm...?!?

Thank you for taking the time to respond, all replies are much appreciated.

They've been raised in a virtual (non) reality ... they don't know 'manners'.
