Hi,
I'm on holiday in Bavaria at the moment and I bought this frame today for the princely sum of One Euro.
Trouble is, I don't know what it is!
It looks very similar (to my untrained eye) to my Raleigh Esquire 3-speeder, the dropout is a similar angle and the frame looks to be similar geometry. The main differences that I can see are that the lugs for the rear mudguard/rack are in a different place and the braze-ons for the pump are on the seat tube rather than the top tube. The shape of the lugwork is different too. The chain stay tubes are "dented" along the insides compared to my Raleigh, presumably to allow for wider tyres.
Does anyone have any clue at all?
I've tested with a magnet and it's steel (I assume...).
It has "Hercules" half worn away on one of the pedal cranks, and a bracket on the down tube has "Sachs" on it, along with another word that annoyingly I can't remember right now!
It is a bluey green metallic under the brush-painted black.
Any ideas appreciated!
