CAMPAGNOLO RECORD OR/ICARUS/CENTAUR

You are absolutely correct. Not many folk understand the adjustment cap/nut feature on the early Record OR brakes (later versions were essentially the Icarus design with its conventional pivot). The cap very precisely screws up against the brake arm providing a stable support - this allows just the thin arm to pivot on its bearing, rather than requiring a wide bushing to stabilise it like all other brakes.
It’s a clever, unique system as you say, and reduces friction in the pivot by supporting the arm front and rear.

Actually it’s hard to understand unless you hold a set of these in your own hands or you‘r even more lucky and get a set inclusive the instruction sheet.
I just got my hands on a complete set 92/93 brakes (there are minimal differences between 92 and 93 such as silver vs black pivot bolt and one washer on the pad clamping unit is different…) and another set that is missing one fixing bolt and three of the washers that go between the brake and the brake stud… I might complete it with custom parts or just use it as spares.
I used Graftons back then and have a set of Criticals… but the Record brakes are really different and outstanding. Never used them but they seem very well constructed.
I really didn’t expect someone would answer 😂😂😂

Hello, I have little bags of brass Campagnolo washers and bags of bolts. These came in a job lot of Record O.R components. Do you have pics of the missing parts from your full set?

Hi all, as I'm building up a new old bike, I had a hard time finding Bullet instructions. I found a clean scan in German and a poor photo in English, so I broke out Illustrator and made my own guide, presented here. Hope this helps someone. Also including two scans from the 94 and 95 parts catalogs. Am new to this thread, but it's a topic close to my heart. Just built up my second Tommasini with Campagnolo mtb parts!View attachment 882074View attachment 882075View attachment 882076View attachment 882077View attachment 882078

The Bullet instructions above are for the older type shifters, Centaur I think. These are are not the BS-02IC Record O.R type. I'll check if I have a scanned copy of the Record O.R Bullet instruction sheet.
