CAMPAGNOLO RECORD OR/ICARUS/CENTAUR

- would they work with any other shifter besides their own?
Campag shifters pull a different amount of cable to Shimano etc so ideally you should use Campag. But some people have made it work ok with other shifters. One trick is to use a floating upper pulley wheel - its sidewards movement might be enough to accommodate the slight misalignment.

Awesome info, Thank you!

So if I would use the Shimano XT thumbshifter in non-index mode that might work?

Yes, I’ve definitely seen people use Shimano shifters and claim it works.
It’s not guaranteed though and won’t be perfect, and you might have to spend some time tweaking it. If you set up around the middle sprockets to begin with any misalignment will be minimal at the extremes.

Incidentally another trick to alter cable pull is to clamp the cable the other side of the bolt, this alters the leverage a bit.
It’s all trial and error. Some don’t seem to have any issues, others have failed to get it to work satisfactory. Good luck!

Icarus and Record have a different system to bolt the cage to the derailleur body. Icarus has an external bolt, Record has the bolt in the back of the body, just like the road derailleurs, which are squarer on the left side, tho

Adding to this, different mechanism for anchoring the wire.
Record has a bolt that threads into an insert in the main body.
Icarus and models below have a bolt from the backside through the body, and a nut to tighten.

Hi all, as I'm building up a new old bike, I had a hard time finding Bullet instructions. I found a clean scan in German and a poor photo in English, so I broke out Illustrator and made my own guide, presented here. Hope this helps someone. Also including two scans from the 94 and 95 parts catalogs. Am new to this thread, but it's a topic close to my heart. Just built up my second Tommasini with Campagnolo mtb parts! 453771404_10223842124736758_3775330285357599159_n.jpg 453514523_10223842124216745_2199116660831991143_n.jpg 453538706_10223842123776734_663131334318311764_n.jpg 453874947_10223842123376724_3792576271839237431_n.jpg 453739275_10223842123536728_5361179719543605890_n.jpg
