campagnolo Free hub lock ring

Have what I believe is a campagnolo mirage 32 hole hubset 8 speed - have tried EXA Drive 8 speed cassette and UD 8 speed cassette but it seems that the thread diameter on the lock rings are too large - any ideas/help appreciated

Is it definitely 8 speed ie: with a black steel body? These take a 29mm lockring and as far as I'm aware they only ever came in one diameter.

I'm in the same boat but with an alloy 9/10 speed hub that needs a 26mm lockring.

An alloy body means it's a 9/10 speed freehub so that's why your 8-speed lockring doesn't fit. You shouldn't use 8-speed cassettes on that hub because the sprockets have shallow splines that don't go all the way down to the bottom of the valleys on the freehub body. Doing so will ruin the alloy freehub in no time.

A picture would help a lot but I'm pretty certain you have a 9/10 speed hub there.
