Campagnolo Chorus Crankset on a Shimano 600 8-Speed Italian

Hi Guys,

Can you please advise if this crankset (see photo below) will work with Shimano 600 8-speed system that is on an Italian steel frame bike with Italian type BB. All drivetrain including the front mech is Shimano 600 tricolour, double. And importantly, what type, size and axle length bottom bracket is compatible with this crankset in 70mm Italian BB?
And last question - the chainrings are not interchangeable between Shimano and Campagnolo I guess?

What I'd do is try it. But first you will need to bear in mind that Campag cranks need a different taper BB spindle to Shim ones.

I've read you can mix in one direction but not the other. I know from experience that a Shimano taper BB (JIS) doesn't work with Campagnolo taper cranks (ISO) but have no experience with the other way round.

Drivetrain-wise it will work perfectly. IIRC it takes a 111mm bottom bracket, but check elsewhere as I am not certian, later ones need 103mm. Campag bottom brackets work well and are very cheap too.

Thanks. I tried to source a 111mm bottom bracket, but can't find it for sale for a reasonable price. If you know were to get it, I will appreciate.
