Wanted Campag or any 135bcd road chainrings…8 speed compatible.

I think I have. I'll look later after tea and post up
Thank you.
This might be a silly question but I have a set of Centaur cranks that currently have 10s chainrings…the bike mechanic who does my bike says that I need 8 speed chainrings but that I need crank arms that are compatible with 8 speed chainrings but because of spacing of the rings…And the Centaur cranks won’t work well with 8 speed chainrings…Is he right?

If he is…I will need a period chainset …crank arms and chainrings???

I think what you have will work despite the mechanic's misgivings. Especially given that a Campag 8 speed front mech is operated by a non-indexed front lever. So all that spacing thing shouldn't matter.

Anyway, I've had a look and all I have in rings is 2 x 53T chorus rings and 1 x 52 ring (possibly centaur or veloce as it's not as nicely designed) . They are unused but are marked 10 speed. Everything else I might have is on cranksets

Apart from the chainset..I should mentioned…everything is Shimano…front and rear mech…rear mech is Shimano 8 speed…chain is 8 speed KMC…the the crank arms say Centaur 10 speed.

Thanks for looking…but I will pass on the rings….much appreciated.

I have a pair of lightly used Veloce 9s rings, 52/39. I will dig them out and put up a couple of photos. Say £20 posted?
9s is identical in tooth thickness to 8s so completely interchangeable.
