Campag Delta tyre clearance

Hello,

By way of an intro have a whole bunch of retro steel bikes plus modern fleet (11 in all) and still have the bug. Sold a couple of mavic ssc equipped bikes in lockdown and still regretting it. Old C-record gset’s my facourite.

Have a nice geoff roberts frame with c-record and just pulled it off the rack and thinking of using it more regularly. Am going to change the cinelli crit bars for nitto m151aaf’s to reduce the stretch and replace the original levers for those rare campy carbon brake levers (that use the ergo hoods) to ease pressure on the thumbs (those early brake levers half way down the bars are so uncomfortable after riding modern shimano). This should make the ride a lot more comfortable.

Bike has 2nd gen delta’s and 23mm tyres which are equally uncomfortable after new 28 fare. Question is has anyone experience of running 25mm tyres with these brakes, clearance looks tight but wondered if it will fit (before i go and order some)

The calipers will take 25s if the frame allows it iirc
- It will ultimately depend on the fork and stay length -
If you've got 3mm all round the 23 tyre a 25 will fit ok, as long as the wheel is straight

I've got 28c tyres (just fit) on my Somec that runs Delta's, so 25's no prblem

There is scope to move the calipers up and down as well as limited scope to slide the brake shoes vertically

I have a Colnago Master with delta brakes 5th gen have just changed from 25 to 23mm for safety reasons don,t want to end up going over the h,bars if a stone gets caught between wheel & forks.
