CADEX CRM 3 1993 - deore LX / Mirage - prestine condition

Hansbrixxx

Retro Newbie
I've picked up this CADEX CRM 3, presumably from 1993.
Story goes that it has been ridden for a couple of months. The owner died and it ended up in family storage.
I bought it not minding the framesize. I'll post the framesize later on.

Front rim has no brake marking's at all. Back Rim just a little. ( araya cv 7 )
All orginal bike with the original tires, brakes, ect.
The paint an decals is just amazing. No damage.

Front/back deraillers Deore LX and looks like new :D
The crank and brakes is Exage ES.
Shifters and brake leavers are also Deore LX and not a scratch, almost like nos.
The whole cockpit and the grips are in an like new condition.
Even the seatpost is mint. No scratches.
The seat is the orginal. Has a small 3mm cut. I think I'll be able to fix that.

Bike has muddguards, lock and pretty purple saddlebag.

I just got it so am exited to share this. Snapped some pictures of the bike in my appartment.
First of all I'll start with a clean of the drivetrain and after that I'll plan a little photo session.

I'm planning on keeping it original and try to perserve it.
Does anyone know if it's worh perserving in is original condition?

Nice time capsule indeed. I have the Univega version, CB6.3, and these are great riders. I'm always in favour of preservation.

Amazing find. I've seen some of these on CL locally, but they've been beaten to hell. If you value the bike as sold then its worth keeping it original.

That is a dilemma. A Cadex isn't very valuable or highly sought after. It is a nice example worth preserving, but it is also a bike that rides pretty well.

Of the same year I have the ALM-1. Your frame looks like a 52cm to me.

Thanks for your input! I am way to big for this frame so I'll spend some energy in cleaning it up a little bit more.
Once I'm happy I'll put it up my wall to enjoy for a bit. Till the time comes to make some more space :D

I can see the proportions. This is how the 20 inch model looks.
I am 1,83m. I could ride 18 and 20 inch.

Cool find. Had a couple of Cadex bikes of '92 and '94. As Elev12k writes, it's a 20 inch. Probably not really your size.

Saw your question about front suspension in the other topic. The first Cadex with front suspension was a '93 CFM1. I think they called it CFM1S. It had a white mag21. In '94 they offered the first quasi monocoque Cadex PS-S1, next to the regular Cadex line.
