Cable housing

I am attempting to attach the rear outer gear cable housing to my 1995 pinarello treviso -- the ferrule that comes with the Campagnolo cables will not fit. Can anyone give me advice on what I need to resolve this problem? Thank you

It's hard to say without seeing a picture. I assume you mean that the ferrule is too big to go into the stop that is brazed on to the chainstay?

If that's the case then you need a step-down ferrule. These are difficult to come by now, a search on ebay shows only a few in the US that are very expensive for something which should cost a quid or two.

It's the sort of thing a long-established bike shop will have, take a picture in and ask if they have one.

have a divers helmet der. cable stop on a Serotta SLX bike from 89'

ordered shimano 4mm step down ferrule. has a lttle plastic donut on the inside at the hole. SP40. Massive cable friction just to keep the water out.

Campagnolo step down arrived today. 4.1 mm. works perfectly (steel)

easy to get. 👍
