Hi,

On the hunt for a C Record rear mech to go on a Lemond TSX Mailot Jaune I'm restoring so need something around 1990 - 92. Only interested in C Record.

Thanks in advance,

Tony

Re:

They are strangely beautiful though. I bought a bike a Rourke a couple of years ago with 1st gen C-Record and 2nd Gen deltas. The only thing amiss was that it has a super Record front mech (original from new). All in NOS condition and with original Benotto white tape. Took me ages to find a decent genuine C-Record front mech but I've never fitted it because I'm wrestling between making the groupset complete and rowing the originality

The only other things I've done are replacing the cable adjuster for the rear mech (you think the mechs are expensive!) and rebuilt the wheels with stainless spokes as the original chrome ones were shot.

My favourite mechs at the mo are Nuovo Record though

You probably meant 1st gen C Record braze on front mech? do you? 1st gen FD is really hard to find and used to cost as much as the rear mech (I saw one sold for $350). Either you pay a lot or you buy it on ebay from an unaware seller.

I managed to get a 1st Gen which had a graze for a reasonable amount (I cant remember exactly how much) I ground it out with a Dremel and polished it up. You'd need a keen eye to tell

This is the one I bought:

The design of later models is vey similar but IIRC the C-rec model has an 8mm hex bolt cable clamp rather than an Allen key bolt
