buying carbon frame mount ain bike - what to check?

Rear end on this is alloy isn't it?

If it's a 2010 model, you need to make sure it's not one of the ones affected by a recall, or that the parts have been replaced FOC. There were some rear shock fittings that weren't welded beefily enough onto the seatstays.

Also VERY important you keep service intervals. We had a very upset customer who didn't, which caused the bushing pivots in the frame to come dislodged when all the bearings in the FSR system had siezed. It wasn't warranty.

Check for play after every ride, and change/strip and regrease your bearings regularly.

Some laquer is flaking off my scott endorphin,I have flatted it back carefully and covered it in copter tape in the relevant area,it gives a nice glossy finish and is very hard wearing and waterproof as well

How can it have a nice glossy finish if painted flat black? :?:

The laquer was glossy but was flaking off and I have sanded it back carefully, the painted decals/stickers are still in good condition,so I have covered it in a glossy plastic based tape to protect it

heard a lot of similar problems with genralized pivot bushings
seem a little too maintenance intensive even the ali ones are like this
i know of 2 that had top tube breakages ,not sure if they were epics tho
all replaced under generalizeds excellent warranty scheme
