But is it art?

Covid feed zone........ or some artsy farts explanation of empty bottle cages haha

Art is essentially communication of an idea, thought or feeling. If its just cages hung on a bit of wood......its cages hung on a bit of wood!

If the guy who did it tells you......

" Its an expression of my latent desire to remove the last vestiges of individuality in a constantly changing social platform, where we are all individuals, but impotent to change our own path"

And you think...

"I feel his is inability to diversify his purpose whilst, simultaneously trying to maintain his animimity ....wow! How does he make that feeling so clear to me just using the medium of bottle cages"

Then its art.

All I was expressing was a desire to have a cleaner work space! :)
Looks like art to me. It's very modest of you to say that you only wanted a cleaner work space ;) but it's a piece of work that's clearly reminiscent of Andy Warhol's Campbell's soup tins, Marilyn art, etc. He was making a statement about mass production, commodification, consumerism, and more; yours is a statement about the ageing of all those things and what we're left with. Very postmodern! Don't deny it now.
