Bury St Edmunds Area - advice needed re meeting venue

Very "off topic" this but I'm hoping someone can help. We need to book a venue either in Bury St Edmunds or the village of Culford for upwards of 50 people for a get together after a funeral of a distant relative.

Looking for somewhere that can serve tea, ccoffee, pastries etc. and reasonably smart but not "over the top" expensive.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated as we are having to organise this at a distance! and with not much notice!

Sorry to hear of your loss.
Can the funeral people not help you out? If not maybe speak to someone from the church. They normally know somewhere village hall etc.If it was a little further this way I'd be able to help you out but Bury is over 40 miles away from me.

I am indeed local and am willing to help out as needed.

My suggestion would be as above - church hall or similar.

There are several places in BSE centre but getting 50 people in and out may be a bit of a bind.

Hi All,

Thanks for suggestions - apparently hotel that my OH and his parents are staying at has a function room so he's gone for that.

So it's sorted and hopefully all will be OK on the day.
