We could do an 11am start?

Alternately we could do an earlier start and then meet up with anyone wanting to start later at a pre-arranged time and place. Maybe the Cafe in Wendover woods?

If I don't hear any alternative comments, I will assume that a 11am start is fine.

My better half would be keen to join if we can avoid any massively hilly sections We may have to join you later so maybe we could plan the day so the second part of the ride is less hilly.

OK - I've come round - consultant says two weeks off the bike
So that put me back on the bike Friday 11th - so hopefully a few rides before the 20th

The easiest way to avoid hills is to start somewhere in the hills above Wendover as this avoids the climb out of the town. It also avoids the downhill back to Wendover at the end of the ride, which is not so good. :cry:

I will advertise this ride on the Cleland website so we may get some riders from there.

What goes up must come down I'm pretty sure she can hack it, she's better than she gives herself credit for. What route you thinking of? If it was including hills?

Just looked at that Cleland Cycles page, thats some insane stuff... would love to see some of those in action

North east of Wendover there is a ridge that goes nearly all the way to Tring via Pavis Wood. There are then a number of options including riding to Cholesbury before heading back towards Wendover. This can all be done without losing much of the height initially gained as you climbed out of Wendover. It would also avoid the "steep" charges for parking at Wendover Woods.

The only RetroBikes that I still own are Clelands, a 1983 and a 1988 version so I will be riding one of these. Though the modern Clelands I have are definitely insane. Very few local riders realise that the first specialist off-road cycle manufacturer in Europe was Cleland Cycles based at Rowsham near Aylesbury.

I've been trying to fathom which of the groups the Bucks area sits in for a while

I live in Stone (Aylesbury), grew up cycling the woods around Naphill, Downley, Bradenham and that area.

Unfortunately I can't make the suggested date but I'll keep popping back in here and see if I can make any subsequent dates
