Tidying the garage today and came across a set of forks I forgot I had. I thought I'd check the elastomers condition and went to unscrew the top cap, but it just spun underneath the adjuster. Removing the adjuster confirmed my fear, the top section was not attached to the bottom, so the lower part is captive.

2 questions.

1. How can I get this out?
2. Can I get a spare adjuster

I probably have a similar manitou fork that is non working and could be used for spare parts. Where do you live? What model is the fork? You can try griping the inside of the cap with pliers and twisting it out. You should probably spray inside with WD40 of PB blaster or something first.

I'm in Epsom. What model is yours, I forget what mine is, it's the bulge FS iirc. Should have posted a pic of the full fork.

I can probably make some holes and use circlip tool to try and unscrew it, maybe. Or maybe unscrewing using the adjuster but left may work. It was late and dark when I discovered the issue so haven't tried anything yet.

I'm in the U.S. I didn't realize that you're in the U.K. I think shipping will prevent this. I hope you find a way to fix it. Or it might become part of the parts bin for a future need.
