aahhhh crap! looks like i'm going to have to go pick up the bike from storage. it will take a couple days 'cause it is in the next town over, but i'll post some pics soon. some might have been made custom but when next to my colnago, it has a really sloping tt. either way, as i'm sure slimjoe will tell you, mtb co's that make road frames are usually the sweetest ones around as they are tig welded and un-conventional in geometry. that is just my opinion though, as i really like euro lugged style bikes as well. i am just a mountain biker at heart. peace

i will try and talk to the man himself. being chris cooney, as he is the guy who welded them. i have never met him but have a few friends that see him weekly. i could ask paul but he seems to not know exact specs as he did mostly romax's and fillet brazed bikes. i am working on a b.c. bike history/museum so pretty soon i will have a ton of info on anything made in canada. i would kind of like to do a feature for this site like the one on ross schaefer and keith bontrager. there are a lot of helpful old men here like bruce spicer who still work in the industry for brodie and others, but of course things have changed and brodie doesn't own the co anymore. cybersport does. they are still helpful though. when i find the right building to house this i will open a shop and museum featuring things from b.c. ie. brodie, dekerf, rocky, toad, lavoie, cbs, and freefall. syncros of course will be included. hopefully all of this will be happening sooner than later, 'cause i have been collecting some nice stuff and a waiting to unveil it all to the world . any ways, more info soon. jesse

I think it is sweet, with US and Canadian bikes you can really use what you like where groupsets are concerned. The only 'rule' if there is one is that Italian bikes should have campag. But then I would hardly turn my nose up at a 7401 Dura Ace equipped Colnago.
I'll use a shorter stem if i were you. It look like there's a lot (too much?) weight on the front of the bike. Compared to all the thing's i've built up with drop bars, i think you either used ad too small frame or you're sitting on it way to strechted.
But it it fit's, it's ok. It just looks like it's not =)
All in all a nice ride though,

you are right but it"s not the stem (120mm) that is causing the problem, its the bars. they have quite a lot reach and i mounted them way too steep. i already ordered a replacement (deda elementi 215 shallow 44cm wide; lance used them 2003nomad":1v00gewr said:

I just judged by the looks. That may have been my mistake. I know, that 120+- mm in stem size is quite normal on todays roadies. But Inigo Montoya pointed out that his bar has quite a large reach. That distorts the look and makes the stem look even longer to me. And if you look at the pro bikes today, they use shorte reach as the bar on this bike (or at least that's what i think)
I'm currently riding a Cyclocross bike with a 110mm stem and and a Deda bar with round abotu 80mm rech, so it looks shorter on my bike and i'm used to teh shorter looks.
So i guess it's based on the missjudgement on the optical stretch with the handlebar. Anywho =) we're not here to fight, right?
