Brodie a saw on Marketplace a while ago...

Last summer, while browsing Marketplace searching for a project, I found an ad listing a few bikes for free. Most of them were cheap, entry level bikes, but one of them captured my attention.

It appears to be a Brodie with a second top tube, something I had not yet seen. It looks rough, but still, the fact that a Brodie was posted for free meant I had to go get it ASAP. Unfortunately, it was already gone when I contacted the seller...

I think about this bike from time to time, perhaps someone can help me with that. What model was that? Could it just be a rebadged bike? I'm very curious!

The seat cluster looks typical of a late 80's Brodie. Maybe the second top tube was added at a later date

Looks like bottom mounted roller cams, never seen a Brodie with that setup.

More often that not they had a u-brake down there, but rollercams are not uncommon. They moved them up to the seatstays in late 1988

Could have been me, hard to know. I did make a couple like that many, years ago..

Do you still have correspondence with the person who originally listed them? Maybe they could put you in touch with the person that collected them?
