I will gladly take this opportunity to show off some of the lesser-known brands from my stable.

My Nöll Pro. Built by Achim Nöll of Fulda, Germany. The company still exists: Nöll Fahrradbau.

And how about a Toortelboom Sport? Frans Toortelboom is a former Belgian racer who, like many former pro's, opened a bike shop after his career:

I found the frame set at a jumble sale in Ghent, and fell in love with it. The "faux chrome" is done so well that I only noticed it after I got home.

Snel is a bike shop in Utrecht, Holland, which has been in business since the 1930's. Over the years they have made a name for themselves as touring bike specialists. I originally just bought this frame set because the wheels it came with were built around Maxi-car hubs.

However, the frame itself turned out to be mrs non-fixie's size and it looked rather good, so I decided to build it up for her:

Cees Jonkers had a bike shop in Rotterdam, and catered to the local racing crowd. When I got a little bored during the first Covid lockdown last year I decided to challenge myself and build a light tourer with mudguards weighing no more than 10 kg. I chose a Jonkers frame set I had as the starting point.

Rein Ruitenbeek (the "RR" panto on the seat stay tops) had a shop in Hilversum, from which he supplied nice bikes to the locals. He was always quite secretive about the origins of the frames. "Somewhere in Amsterdam" would be his answer when someone inquired. His brand was named Olympia Sport.

When I found one of his bikes in my size curiosity got the better of me. I bought it and rebuilt it:

Is van tuyl a genuine manufacturer's brand or is it the in-house label for Race Scene at Barnsley?
I knew someone who rode one and it just looked like a generic shop aluminum frame
