Brakes

I'm sure I've read people wanting road brakes of different sizes as in down to the rims, sorry I'm an idiot on road bikes, but how do you work out what size you want? If there are different sizes. I'm looking at Shimano 600 ones for a Bianchi Strada LX and wanted to get the right ones.

Can almost guarantee that they will be the regular 39mm to 49mm drop. However to be absolutely sure just measure from the centre of the rim to the centre of the brake caliper hole
