]Hey folks,
I am doing a strip down and rebuild of a Saracen Xess for a friend and it's fitted with a pair of mechanical disk brakes, which I can't seem to get to work properly: when they are reinstalled the pad rubs hard against the rotor and no matter how I adjust the things I can't eliminate this.
I can't read the name on the brakes ( the casting is poor and unreadable, combined with the fact that the red powder coating is peeling off and the metal underneath oxidizing like there is no tomorrow )
Googling doesn't seem to help except to tell me that the 2005 model was fitted with Hayes brakes. I am therefore very happy for the 2005 model.
Can anyone either tell me what the hell these things are, or how to adjust/service them?
I have a friend who'll be very grateful and it will stop me slinging the thing in a canal.
It's one of these:
many thanks
