Brake recommendation sought

I hope someone with more experience/brainpower can keep me from running into the back of the next Tranny that brakes hard in front of me.
My Harry Quinn frame takes nut-fit calipers with a 57mm drop - currently fitted with single-pivot Shimano BR-1050s. Only when I used dual-pivot Campags (albeit with a shorter drop) on the Vitus that I bought did I realise that I'm missing out rather on braking power.
Any suggestions, please?

I fitted the very same to a Tom Bromwich I had which had similar issues

I can lock my wheels with single pivot calliper brakes so anything else is overkill. I admit I have to squeeze the levers less on my dual pivot campags but its hardly a chore. Are your rims and brake blocks ok?

I put the wheels from the Quinn into the Vitus and got dual pivot braking. I tried new blocks in the Quinn and still got single pivot braking. (Mind you, I didn't spend much on the blocks.) I wondered about the levers, but as far as I can measure, the mechanical advantage is much the same. Could be cables I guess. I wasn't entirely joking about rear-ending a Tranny, 'coz I tootled down a hill in traffic on the Quinn after a spell on the Vitus and came closer than was comfortable to putting a love-bite into the back of a van that stopped in front of me. Maybe I just have a feeble grip.
