Here's another Kili Flier of the same vintage as Heathy's. I bought the fame on impulse from some one on this very site as a mate of mine had one from new. It was the bike I couldn't afford back then but it did get me interested in the brand. The frame had lost the original forks and these are I believe Specialised Direct Drive from the same sort of vintage.
I had a paint shop match the paint and make me up some tins of spray. The colour matches well and after a brief dispute the forks and stem were baked in the oven.
The kit is a mixture of DX and XT which I polished up a bit. The pics aren't great but a fair few of you will have seen the bike on retro meets. It gets used a lot and will continue to be so.

Decided to enter my Race Elite even though the tyres are not really for it and imo look a little strange They are the only retro ones I have so will have to do. I have some Ritchey Megabite Z Max ambers for it but they are 100miles away I can't get em in time..

Tom Ritchey is an American rider and frame builder from the very early days of mountain biking. His Ritchey component line has included pretty much every part available for bikes including frame parts which have been used by other manufacturers.
The rear dropout is the part of the frame which the rear wheel axle fits into.
Lots of nice higher end frames have used Ritchey dropouts over the years.
