I think @prezza had a similar crack on the one he did, from memory it was on a similar join on the frame rather than a failure of a frame tube.
You never know - it might be salvageable, as said above, seems a shame to scrap it.

See Everest Item C57 for how this fits together. It may just be a failed brazed joint it would be worth seeking the opinion of forum members Danson or August Bicycles.

Yup… as pointed out, I had similar mark on my model but in the join at the stay.

I sanded mine back and it was superficial. Likely moisture getting into a faint hairline crack in the paint and most certainly not anything to weaken the frame imo.

Because that shade of green is hard to match exactly and the fact that 99 percent of the paintwork was mint I just took the paint back at the join to ensure no crack then touched it in with enamel paint I mixed .
If you ain’t bothered about a full fresh powdercoat then go down that route I’d say but I recon that’s not as bad as it looks.

Knowledge dropped! Thanks @retrobate and everyone else. I thought that it was sleeved like that C57 part but my frame has cracked right through rather than just the sleeve separating.

Your build thread is inspiring @prezza and makes me want to save mine, I'll have another look at it in daylight and try to understand what's gone wrong.
