Boot sale find benotto 2500: gravelly buildy thingy

Depends how good the welder is. Can't grind the boogers out the inside but can easy enough clean up the outside. I was thinking an endoscope is the least invasive (unlike when you get your colon check, in which case it feels pretty invasive).
I would have thought the repair would be brazed or silver soldered so you would see the difference in colour. But endoscopes are cool 👍 not in the bum though.

Depends when it was done I guess. These days they'd tig it at most places because the skills for gas work are dieing out.

A tiny bump camera doesn't need paint stripping is all I was thinking.

Just gave it a quick ride up and down the road. Very twitchy and responsive, like it’s begging “go fasteeeer!!!” The pedals are going to take some getting some getting used to but I might switch to look/time clipless pedals.

Overall, very nice👌

If it is that good a ride then it is worth doing a proper job on it.
Get it painted or powder coated properly and root around for some appropriate gear.
Lots of bragging rights at stake.
I’ll give it a week of riding and then if I’m happy I’ll take it down to the car body shop that’s next to us and get it painted in a similar sparkly blue. I’ll go on the hunt for a lighter saddle, different seatpost as campag and Shimano is triggering my ocd. And some clipless pedals. And basic service stuff like new cables, bar tape .etc

Right, I’ve got a quote from a powdercoater down the road.

@chickendrumsticks you said you got the full powder coat for £50 right?

Well my powder coat would cost £200. Yes, some powdercoats are that much. But he says that the frame is too big to sandblast so I’d have to do it myself! And I’d have to pay for the powder coat paint. And it doesn’t even include VAT!😂 so I’m potentially paying upwards of £300 for a powder coat whilst my guy just sprays on some paint.

But a another company has come to me in Essex that Specialises in vintage frames.
