When you spend just a tad too long looking at a bike, and the seller is determined to sell despite your protests about not needing another bike! Eventually the price was so low that you break and reach for your wallet.
Badged as a Cougar with Columbus SLX, Shimano 600 running gear, Cinelli bar and stem. Anyone add any other details!

I saw one almost exactly the same sell at the Cheriton cycle jumble Saturday, It didn't have tyres or tubes though!

Okay it's up and running, full 600 Tricolor groupset and brakes. I have a set of period wheels (Pete Matthews) on matching Shimano 600 Tricolor hubs that need a bit of attention. Until then I stuck these old Sram S60s on which for this forum I'm guessing is a bit 'Marmite'. Mightily impressed with the feel of the ride, I could do with a slightly longer stem if I was keeping, but I don't think I can justify this N+1

So it runs on these 8s rims on the Shimano 600 friction shifters or…………
I now have a set of 105 8s shifters.
Stick or twist?

The silver alloy rims look much better IMO. What’s the question about the shifters? I’d go indexed over friction if you’ve got them.

Aren't the 600 shifters 7 speed indexable?
It would be nicer to fit a 7 speed cassette (+spacer obvs) onto the freehub to keep the groupset match.

Slx frame and fork sells strongly on ebay - it's a bargain!
And you get to make jokes about the name

Do give the brake qr and barrel adjuster a quick twiddle though
