I am upgrading my son's bike, and have ended up with a boost fork but the crossmax wheels are non boost.
I have bought an adapter kit so I can run the front wheel with the boost fork (adapters for hub and rotor), but part of me isn't happy with that solution. I can't say why and should probably just do it.
So with this doubt, I'm thinking of buying a boost front hub and rebuilding the wheel. Can I do this with the existing spokes? How much difference does a boost hub make in spoke length?
My rationale for wanting to do this, aside from the boost adapter option is to keep the rims matching. The crossmax are normal spokes iirc so wondering if I can just swap the hub, or am I on a hiding to new spokes as well as hub? If that's the case I'll use the adapter kit or try and find a boost front wheel to match the non boost rear, if that's even possible?
