Bontrager #3 - '94 Race

Cough, calipers, cough! ;)

Could also be the black finish on the Dean post.

I've had several seatposts come in a few mm's over their supposed sizes, usually because of the finish.

I saw the bell and knew what your reply was about before I opened the thread!

If there is another bell with your name in it I know it's a link to calipers...

Looking for guidance here.

Went to install my cassette and had some trouble...

cs-m737 on old WI Ti hub (same rear hub on my OR) and the lock ring wont reach the hub threads. I noticed a plastic spacer(?) on the back side of the cassette.

It comes off easy enough which makes me wonder why it's there. Once popped off the lock ring reaches the threads fine but clearance at the spokes seems tight.

I tried this cs-m737 on my dt hub with the plastic thingy and lock ring reached the threads.
I tried 2 different model m900 cassettes mon the WI hub and all was good.
I tried a 7spd hg70 on this WI hub and clearly it needs a spacer.

Ditch the plastic thingy (seems it would crush anyway?) and clearance is ok?

On a 737 hub there's an alu ring at the hub end of the cassette, this is just a dust cover for that. Photos aren't great but shows what I mean, first one no plastic cover, second one has it installed. Can't really see what the point was to be honest. Just remove it, it'll be fine. 👍 😁 _20230223_233110.JPG _20230223_233042.JPG
