Bob Jackson Handbuilt Reynolds 531 Competition tubing frame, size 23 inch
Frame number 19119.
Please note this is made from 531 Competition tubing which is lighter than standard 531. The frame is a delight to ride. The original owner I bought it from had it built after 1980, this is born out by dating the Reynolds 531C sticker between 82 to 89, also Reynolds competition tubing was made after 1981. It would make a super Eroica bike.
The paint and chrome is original and has age related marks, the right seat stay has been touched up, but is not a good match. There are two small dimples in the top tube.
The headset is Tange, it is smooth but it would advisable to replace the grease. The bottom bracket is british thread. I removed and replaced the bottom bracket to check it is not siezed and the threads are in good condition. The BB is a Shimano UN 55. The brake mounts are recessed allen key nut style. The fork and rear stays have mudguard mount lugs.
The top tube centre to centre is 22 inch, the seat tube centre to top is 23 inch. Photos showing the measurements are included in the images.
