Mate passed me a Trance X 1 for a shot, asked me if I could look at the suspension as there is a 'knock' only apparent when picking it up to put on the car.

Well yes there is. Supposedly all the bushings are done, so what is the quickest way to trouble shoot?

It seems to be from somewhere in the maze of pivots near the bottom bracket.

Re:

Cheers man! I will at it tomorrow with tinfoil, cigarette papers and cocktail sticks.

Think I am going to buy one, it rides sweet.

The few times I have looked for a wobbly bushing I put my thumb across the joint/linkage so part of your thumb is on each part (frame and linkage) if there is wobble you should be able to feel it when your wobble the bike.

This might be difficult for the shock linkage.

Re:

Could it be loose cones in the rear wheel? Had me puzzled once under identical circumstances.

Re:

I'd check the bottom (Maestro?) linkage first, that always seems to be the one that goes on mini link bikes (see: every VPP frame ever).

That said, if the pivots have recently been done, it's probably just a cheap bearing with a notch in it.
