Black Betty CR-7 content

With my first foray into BoTM (July 2012) officially over I thought I would start my second build thread.

Be warned it’s not going to be a quick build or at least a quick finish. Although you can take comfort in the knowledge that this one’s a rider and not a garage queen like my original pride and joy.

The couriers been coming around most days…although I must confess there are a couple of projects on the tickle up regime.

The theme of this bike is black betty and is what this stead will be affectionately called form this day forward. As you might of guessed she is black.

She’s currently in use but some love wouldn’t hurt.

I thought about changing the colour to purple but decided to keep her black. Helped by seeing many great black gloss bikes on here recently.

Thought I should make more progress on this one and ask for some advice...

This build was originally inspired by Yo-Nates mint Black Fat Chance and another sweet gloss black Attitude being built around the same time.

This build has changed tack somewhat. The groupset was to be XC Pro - in black where I can although not hubs and cranks. The problem is this was originally going on a black Fisher but circumstances have changed. The Fisher is a Matt Black frame in fair condition and to realise it's full potential I had intended to respray. Due to more projects than makes sense a repaint doesn't make sense anymore.

The XC Pro groupset has been allocated to another bike....which isn't black...

So my question to the RB community is does this thread become about the Fisher or the Groupset?

I look forward to your direction and leave you with some wheels to complete the above cassette and chain image.

Hey Rob,

At this stage the XT won't be a black group but maybe over time...as funds / motivation allows. The original plan was black XC pro but that's now going on the green frame.

Have decided this thread should stay about the frame....
