Bikes you want with no good reason for it.

Everyone must have a bike they really want to own.

However I mean the ones that you want despite never having ridden, or maybe even seen in the flesh.

I have my strange obsession with owning a DeKerf at some point. I've never seen on up close and certainly have never ridden one. I'd also love a real Californian Rock Lobster or a Salsa.

No real justification for any of those just that for some reason I want them.

Anyone else got a must have that they have no rational reason for apart form anecdotal evidence of how good they are and seeing some photos.

When I bought my first cheap *ss Batavus MTB, which I earned with 4 weeks of plucking chicken, back in 1991, there was this older guy who had a red Koga with big oversized alu tubes.
It was like sitting in your 10 year old Ford Escort looking at a new Ferrari, I spend days drewling over it.
I never seen this bike again, and would really love to own one.

Perhaps not as much BITD, but these days have hankered for a 91 / 92 ish Stumpjumper.

Probably saw the odd one BITD, but never really paid much notice, then, I guess my interest stems from seeing them here.

Yeah, I really want a Sycip, either an Unleaded or a Diesel,. Not fussy...
Why? Well they're steel, have an excellent reputation, and they have some funky paint schemes. They also have pennies in the top of the seat stays, which I would upgrade to silver sixpenses> .
I've never seen one in the flesh, let alone ridden one, but I want one!

Conversely, I have absolutely no desire to get an Indyfab or Fat. I think they might be slumming it a bit...

Cannondale series 3.0 road or mountian.

No idea why, would probably tire really quickly of them, certainly not any better than a Pace RC200. But it just nags at me how nice a matching pair of dark blue metallic 'dales would be.
Also I really respected their company ethos BITD. I went off them abit once the went away from double diamond frames.
